Typography in Motion

This project aims to capture life in motion. To breathe life into type. To tell the story of who we are, as students at GDC, through the language of kinetic typography. Guided by a selection of prompts, we created three animations that fused our unique individual experiences, into one singular narrative.
Life is nothing, if not chaotic; often full of twists and turns, and obstacles to overcome. Sometimes, the biggest obstacle standing in our way, is ourselves. This is the exact concept we wanted to convey with this animation. Motivated by a fear of failure, and the panic of anxiety, this GIF draws inspiration from the myth of Sisyphus.
We're all trying to figure out who we are in this world, and what our purpose is, and that is always such a daunting experience. This animation is centered around the idea that we, as budding designers, need to create ourselves, rather than find ourselves; through subverting expectations, breaking the system, and shaping our own paths.
This animations portrays the concept of a creative flow. When new ideas, approaches to challenges, and problems, and perspectives bubble up in your mind; transitioning from one thought to the other. By pushing the boundaries, and going to places that we never thought of going, we follow the flow of life.
